I am a cake obsessive, based in West Sussex, UK.

I started off making cakes for family and friends before giving up a proper career in favour of playing with sugar full time. Having worked for two bakeries making their wedding and celebration cakes, I am now looking toward world domination with breaks for coffee and chat.

Sweetpeas are go - April 2016

A sweeping asymmetric spray of white sweetpeas with a memory rose, creepers and filler flowers.  A modern take on the traditional.

More flowers; vintage rose spray, filler flowers, cherry blossom and modern open peony - May 2015

Various flower tests, mounted on a tiered dummy cake.

First, a test of my new filler flowers in a spray

Two types of cherry blossom.
I've been testing methods for finish and how long it takes to do them... still undecided.

Thanksgiving Red Velvet cake - November 2014

Two layer red velvet cake, with cream cheese frosting, for a splendid Thanksgiving party.

I do love cream cheese frosting with lots of cream cheese.  A Red Velvet cake with good cream cheese frosting is like a cheesecake in reverse.  Yum!

A very happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it... and a happy Saturday to everyone else!

Smooth sided ombré cake, first attempt - April 2014

My first try at smooth sided ombré buttercreamed cake.
Not as polished as I'd hoped, but then that's why I did a practice cake.

Just messing about with flower making, don't haul me in front of the rose police!

(I really do need to have a proper go at that though.)

 Upside down buttercream method again

Hmm, far from perfect... some issues to overcome.
I quite like the effect though.
